Seamless gutters are a different story. They are formed on site with a roll-forming machine that pros bring to your driveway, so seamless is effectively a professional-only product.
The biggest reasons to hire out are safety and slope. Working from a ladder along the whole roofline is risky, and gutters must be pitched correctly (about a quarter inch of fall per 10 feet) so water drains to the downspouts. Poor slope causes standing water and leaks.
If you have a single-story home, comfort on a ladder, and a simple roofline, DIY sectional can save real money. For two-story homes, long runs, or seamless, professional installation is usually worth it.
