What drives the price of new gutters
Gutter pricing comes down to a handful of factors. The material matters most: vinyl is the cheapest, aluminum is the popular mid-range pick, and zinc and copper sit at the premium end. Seamless gutters cost more than sectional but leak less. Taller homes cost more in labor, and every corner and downspout adds to the total. Adding gutter guards raises the price but can cut years of cleaning.
Typical cost by material
| Material | Per linear foot (installed) | Lifespan |
|---|---|---|
| Vinyl gutters | $3 to $7 | 10 to 20 years |
| Aluminum gutters | $6 to $20 | 20 to 30 years |
| Galvanized steel gutters | $8 to $27 | 15 to 20 years |
| Zinc gutters | $30 to $45 | 50 years or more |
| Copper gutters | $25 to $60 | 50 to 100 years |
